چکیده
A field study was conducted at the Department of Agricultural Education Experimental Farm at Institute of Ecumenical Education Thinker’s Corner Enugu South Eastern Nigeria to investigate the effect of different sources of animal wastes on the growth and yield of Okra. The experiment was laid out in a Randomized complete Block Design (RCRD) with four replicates, Poultry manure (12KgPM/plot), Pig manure (12KgPG/plot), Goat manure (12GM/plot) and control that received no treatment (0Kg/plot).The result of the study showed that there were significant differences between the treatments in most of the parameters assessed. The poultry manure recorded the highest Value in all the parameters and was significantly (P=O.O5) different from the other treatments in fruit weight (11.63gm), number of fruits/plant (23.5) and number of flowers/plant. Goat manure performed competitively better than the Pig manure, in all the parameter measured, while the control plots showed least performance in this study with a yield of

Podagrica Uniforma and Nisota dilecta (Coleoptera: Chrysomalidae) Infesta-tion on Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) in Response to Nutrient Sources
BACKGROUND: The ability of a plant to resist or tolerate pests is grounded partially in favorable physical, chemical and biological properties of soil. OBJECTIVES: Investigate the influence of nutrient sources on Podagrica uniforma and Nisota dilecta infestation, population dynamics and performances of okra. METHODS: </stro...
متن کاملResponse of lateral placement depths of subsurface drip irrigation on okra (Abelmoschus esculentus)
Subsurface drip irrigation is defined as application of water below the soil surface through emitters, with discharge rates generally in the same range as surface drip irrigation. It has many advantages over surface drip. To see the response of subsurface drip irrigation on okra yield, a study was conducted at Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, India during 2003 and 2004. Okra (...

Field experiments were conducted during the 2010 and 2011 cropping seasons to investigate the effect of farmyard manure and weeding regimes on the growth and yield of okra. The study was a factorial experiment laid out in split plot design, replicated three times. Farm yard manure was assigned as main plot treatments, while weeding regimes was assigned as sub plot treatments. Parameters measure...
